During the past fabulous Thanksgiving weekend, Glenda, Julie and I hopped in the car to go for a Sunday drive...well actually it was on Saturday, but you get my drift...Anywho, we head down the scenic highway along the Saint John River to the quaint little village of Gagetown. Once we get there we stop in to the Old Boot Pub for something to nosh on. The back patio overlooked the Saint John river and the ever changing foliage. Gold Jerry, gold! The waiter brings us the menus and asks for our drink order. It wasn't overly busy, so the waiter, hereafter referred to as Jon (which is actually his name), trades witty banter, jokes and whatnot. We proceed to find out that he lives in Cambridge Narrows but was originally from somewhere in Ontario. When asked "so Jon, what brought you down this way?", without skipping a beat, he casually replies "my mother and a U-Haul". Tres funny! Nice work Jon boy! Here's a picture of us all...
We found out that he was leaving the next day to find work in booming Alberta. Good luck Jon and thanks for the shot! Sometimes the most randomly planned days end up being the most fun. So having said that, sometime soon, hop in the car with your mate or a group of good friends and take a journey somewhere, anywhere, even take the long way and experience life along the way. You never know who you're going to meet or what you're going to find. You might be surprised and isn't that what life is all about?!
just keep livin'...
